Wow my first upload in ages... apart from a stupid pic of myself haha. And of course here's a journal entry to go with it...

I have a good excuse for my lack of uploads (not just being a lazy bastard this time) -my old laptop died, the HD totally bit it in the ass so basically I lost everything... I had a few pics backed up on my iPod but apart from that - all GONE. So I bought a new laptop (temporarily bankrupting myself in the process, grrr) and then discovered my scanner was dead too (grrrrrr). But now I have a new scanner up and running and now my wacom tablet has vanished (grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) so I am reduced to colouring with... a MOUSE.

But I really enjoyed doing 'Kawaii MC' so hopefully there will be more uploads to follow...

OK OK OK I've been a totally slack POS lately and I have done hardly any drawing at ALL for the last few months (well nothing worth uploading!) BUT I finally have something new to upload... Oni-Gato will be one of the new characters in the comic I have been imagining lately... will it ever get anywhere, I hope so! (based on my past efforts, hmmmmm... no) I have also come up with a loose design for the main character AND a clever little name for her, which will remain a mystery until I actually draw/upload a proper pic of her!

Also I have a new job and it's a total bludge-fest so I get alot of drawing done while I'm there, so I have been working on a Graphic Novel thingy which I make up as I go along (I usually draw 1 or 2 panels per day) - I am actually really happy with it so far so I am thinking of developing it into a proper comic, which may or may not include the new characters I have been thinking of... right now it's just blue-pen on office paper so it's looking pretty rough but I can see the potential for a good story already... I hope my writing skills are up to it!!

Also I noticed I hit 777 page views today (impressed? haha)... that's gotta be lucky or something right???

Hehe, I got all pissed off on the OzTaku forums when some peepz gave me harsh crit! And I was like, if you're going to be *nasty* about it then at least show me better (big mistake) That was fun... People always seem to hate me on those things (forums) and I tend to get carried away (should stop jumping on immediately after work - always in such a bad mood!) but aaaall in good fun haha. Got me plenty of well needed page views at least! And it wasn't all bad, some people had some good advice, but when u get some regulars offside early on u can't win, people just tend to want to argue with u after that and I can't help myself but argue back! And any chance of decent crit goes out tha window - they'd rather crit me on how much of an ass they thought i was! Silly me, I should maybe try to be more mature and just let it roll off my back... but hell, pretty much my fave past-time is reading comic books, how mature will I ever be, hahaha ^^

Anyway the main thing they all had to say was 'work on your anatomy' and I totally agree - I always am working on it. Aren't we all? I also think I need to work on colouring and putting more effort into the overall design of my pics. This is still just a hobby for me but I'd love to cut back a bit on work and do some really serious drawing for a while, u know 40-50 hours a week of planned study in various areas instead of 0-5 hours of random sketches, which are sometimes inked and coloured... With such little time spent drawing I lose focus easily and progress can sometimes be slow, but I know in the past when I've had more time (and a less stressful job) I've been able to focus and improve quite fast! Who knows, I'm on the verge of mental breakdown at work half the time these days so maybe I need some time off anyway... but the money... Does the Australian government give a 'Mangaka Grant'? They should, damn it! *sigh*

Uploaded a preview of the pic I just started colouring (had the good old plain 'red version' as my avatar for a while) Almost everything on here is cutesy girls... no wait, ALL of it is cutesy girls so far, so I will have to make an effort to finish off (ink) more of my 'dude sketches' and get 'em coloured to even things out a bit, haha.

Uploaded some original sketches for the full colour pics on this site - yes I draw it all y'all. Also uploaded an old random bnw pic - Broke. Got a few more page views n +favs but still NOT ENOUGH... tell your friends haha. (jeez, so impatient!)

OK so I've been really slack but I just got highspeed net at home! (like literally 10 min before typing this) So all is going to change! Now I not only have the ability to upload all my new stuff as it is completed, but I have access to photo-ref and millions of tutorials and resources I never had before! (been needing the net sooo bad)

So today I've uploaded my 2 latest 'finished' pics as well as some wallpapers I've been messing around making. If u like them let me know, if u think they suck - tell me why! Haha nothing like some creative critisism!
